It serves a similar purpose as the kjenge, but it is quite different in the way it is made as well as appearance. The hankestaup is made from vertical staves held together by thin wooden bands.

The book is written in Norwegian but contains a short English summary. It contains a large number of photos and descriptions of about 200 drinking vessels. Hardcover.
