Ragna Breivik was a weaver who worked at the influential Oslo studio of Augusta Christensen. She wove several large commissions including a wall-hanging from Axel Revold’s picture “In Gethsemene.” She then went to the Art and Handicrafts School in Bergen and recreating the water-colour paintings of Gerhard Munthe at the loom. She taught at the Art and Handicrafts School after a trip to America which was cut short by WWII. She continued teaching at the Art and Handicrafts School until two years before her death in 1965.
