- Schedule: September 12-13 (9:00 am-5:00 pm CT)
- Location: This is an in-person class held at Vesterheim Folk Art School.
- Instructor: Andrew Townswick
- Level of Instruction: Beginner Friendly, Open to ages 14+ if accompanied by an adult who is also registered for the class.
Description
Join blacksmith Andrew Townswick for a two-day introduction into the world of forging your own tools starting with a knife. Using High Carbon Steel, you will learn the basics of forging and heat treating that will allow you to continue on your own journey in blacksmithing and tool making after class.
You will leave with your own forged knife. This class is great for beginners!
Supplies
There will be a materials fee of $30 paid directly to the instructor.
Additional Supplies
Students should wear closed toe shoes and natural fibers and bring their own eye and ear protection, as well as a water bottle.
