Absorbed glass mat (AGM), also known as valve regulated lead-acid (VLRA), is a technology that allows the use of proven lead-acid battery technology but without the hassle of routine battery maintenance such as checking the water levels for the proper amount of electrolyte. The glass mat material absorbs and releases the excess gas and water during the charge and discharge cycles. Since the batteries are sealed, spill proof, and leak proof, they can be installed in most locations and any orientation.
