It uses an internal thermostat to keep the temperature at a desirable 102 when the pet lies upon the heated pad and will remain 10-15 degrees above ambient air temperature when your pet is not on the bed. Soft PVC protects from water and a free removable, washable cover is included for easy care. The K&H Lectro-Soft Outdoor heated dog cat beds are recommended for indoor or outdoor use. This heated dog mat/heated cat mat has been tested certified by MET labs to exceed USA/CA electrical safety standards. Note this is a soft bed that is not recommended for destructive dogs.
